This year, the Congregation's General Council wanted to draw attention to a Betharramite reality that is already part of African history: Ivory Coast, where we are celebrating 50 years of presence.

After Thailand in 2008 and Ivory Coast in 2009, this year we celebrate the latest offshoot of the beautiful branch of Betharram: India.

There is no doubt that Saint Michael Garicoits ardently desired Betharram to be a missionary congregation, wherever the Church and the people of his time called it. We have just commemorated the 150th anniversary of the Betharramite mission in America: a presence always alive, committed, and renewed in the pursuit of greater service and greater fidelity.
