The Shobhana Shaakha community of Bangalore celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Betharram with joy and solemnity on the evening of July 28. The celebration began with a candlelit rosary procession, during which the chariot, adorned with the image of Our Lady of Betharram, was carried in procession by the faithful, as an expression of their love and devotion to the Virgin Mary.
The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Father George Antony, SCJ, Director of the Bidar Mission. In his homily, rich in spiritual insights, he recalled the history and spirituality of the Shrine of Our Lady of Betharram, emphasizing the importance of deepening our devotion to the Mother of God through the daily recitation of the Holy Rosary and pilgrimages to Marian shrines. He invited everyone to follow Mary's example in faith, humility, and total availability to God's will.
The celebration concluded with a festive and fraternal dinner, which brought the community together in a spirit of joy and fellowship. At the end of the celebration, Fr. Jose Kumar, SCJ, Superior of the Shobhana Shaakha community and Regional Vicar in India, expressed his sincere gratitude to all who contributed to the successful organization of the celebration and thanked the faithful for their active and prayerful participation.
May Our Lady of Betharram continue to intercede for our community, for our Congregation and for all who seek her maternal protection.
