From March 16th to 19th, the Vicariate of Thailand and Vietnam experienced intense days of sharing and celebration for a new perpetual profession.
During the first two days (16–17 March 2026), the annual Vicariate Assembly took place, which resumed the theme: “Walking together! Following the Acts of the General Chapter.”
The religious of the Vicariate gathered in assembly to strengthen the spirit of synodality through moments of reflection and evaluation of the various areas of community life. The assembly also included the presentation and review of summary reports, drafted in light of the recommendations that emerged, under the guidance of Fr. Wilfred Pereppadan SCJ, Regional Superior, as well as a closing speech of appreciation and thanks from Fr. Luke Kriangsak SCJ, Regional Vicar.
The assembly concluded with a renewed commitment to religious life, mission, and fraternal communion.
28 religious priests and 2 deacons took part in the assembly.
The Vicariate Council met on March 18th. During the meeting, administrative matters were examined and pastoral guidelines were defined, following a comprehensive and systematic approach.
March 19, the Solemnity of St. Joseph, was marked by a moment of special significance for the community, with the Perpetual Profession of Brother John the Baptist Boonyod Sawangthammakun, SCJ. The event was a significant and grace-filled occasion for the entire Vicariate.
